For a trip to Thailand, ordinary non-Thai visitors must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entry, whether arriving by air, land or sea. The official declaration is free and can be completed on the Thai Immigration Bureau website.

TDAC declares arrival information and is separate from visa eligibility. Visa-exempt visitors and visa-on-arrival travellers also need it. Travellers transiting in Thailand without passing through immigration are exempt. If entering to collect luggage or leave the airport, submit as an arriving traveller.

When should I submit TDAC?

The Thai Immigration Bureau FAQ includes the arrival date within the three-day submission window. For example, if you arrive in Thailand on 20 October 2026, you can arrange to submit on 18, 19 or 20 October, before entry.

Use the Thailand arrival date on your itinerary. Thailand is one hour behind Hong Kong. For an overnight flight arriving after midnight, enter the actual Thai arrival date rather than the Hong Kong departure date. Prepare all details first to make checking and submission easier.

Prepare these details before starting

  • Passport and personal details: name, passport number, nationality, birth date and other personal information requested by the form.
  • Arrival itinerary: Thai arrival date, flight or other transport details, and purpose of travel.
  • Accommodation in Thailand: the English address of your hotel or other accommodation, copied from the booking confirmation if convenient.
  • Health declaration information: places visited in the two weeks before arriving in Thailand, plus any further details the system requests for your itinerary.
  • An accessible email address: to receive TDAC confirmation information and the QR code.

The official completion guide requires all fields to be entered in English. A hotel's Chinese name can help you find it, but use the English name and address from the booking confirmation in the declaration.

Five steps to complete TDAC online

1. Open the official website and choose Arrival Card

Start a new declaration on the official TDAC website. Submission is free. The Royal Thai Embassy in Australia's scam warning also confirms that the official address is tdac.immigration.go.th.

2. Enter or read your passport details

Enter the details manually, scan the passport's machine-readable zone (MRZ), or upload an MRZ image to populate the fields. Check the name, passport number, nationality and birth date individually before pressing “Continue”. Enter three characters in a drop-down menu to search its options.

3. Enter your itinerary and Thai accommodation

Enter the arrival mode, flight or transport details, Thai arrival date and accommodation address. Compare these with the flight and hotel confirmations, paying particular attention to the airport, arrival date and hotel address.

4. Complete any health details and add accompanying family

If the boarding country, nationality, flight or places visited in the preceding two weeks are on the Thai Ministry of Public Health's specified lists, the system requests the relevant additional health information.

When completing forms for family, use “Add Other Travelers” to add people individually, with a maximum of 10 people per submission. Children and infants who require declarations each need their own TDAC. For shared itineraries and accommodation, select “Same as Previous Traveler” to reuse the previous traveller's matching information.

5. Preview, submit and download the QR code

Press “Preview” to check the whole declaration and use “Edit” to correct mistakes. Enter the receiving email, confirm the terms and submit. Download the completed TDAC; it can also be retrieved from the email.

You can show the QR code on a phone or another device; printing is unnecessary. Bring a printout if you will not have a device. Download the document to your phone beforehand so you can open it directly on arrival. Follow the eligibility result in the confirmation email for access to ABC automated immigration gates.

What if details are wrong or the flight or hotel changes?

A flight or hotel changes: before entry, choose “Update Arrival Card” and enter the requested lookup details, such as the TDAC number, birth date and nationality. After editing, check and submit again, then save the new confirmation. You can also submit a new form with the correct details.

The name, passport number, nationality or birth date is wrong: submit a correct new TDAC and confirm receipt of the latest document. The system uses the latest valid declaration; travel with its corresponding new confirmation.

Do I need another TDAC when re-entering Thailand on the same trip?

Yes. Each TDAC covers one entry on the expected arrival date provided. For example, if you visit Bangkok, travel to another country and then return to Thailand, submit a new TDAC for the second entry, timed to the new arrival date.
